In other words, how can we create a model of a greenhouse equipped with a thermal storage system? In particular, the example of the Kuujjuaq greenhouse and rock-bed storage system was studied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"619\" height=\"344\" src=\"https:\/\/www.polarharvest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Picture1-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3349\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.7994186046511629;width:840px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.polarharvest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Picture1-2.png 619w, https:\/\/www.polarharvest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Picture1-2-300x167.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 619px) 100vw, 619px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Diagram of the coupled two models of the green house and the storage system &#8211; Timoth\u00e9e Maheux<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>After several twists and turns, mainly due to the input data and the modeling software, Timoth\u00e9e succeeded in obtaining a model close to reality. The model obtained simulates the operation of the greenhouse and predicts temperatures inside the greenhouse with a root-mean-square error of 1.91\u00b0C. Which shows that the model is reliable. Indeed, such a model can be considered reliable if this deviation is less than 2\u00b0C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, to correctly predicting temperature, this model shows that the storage system behaves both daily and seasonally. The system stores excess heat during the day and releases it at night, while storing heat throughout the summer and releasing it in autumn. This enables to extend greenhouse cultivation until the end of october.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, to correctly predicting temperature, this model shows that the storage system behaves both daily and seasonally.
